Architect: Fergus Scott Architecture
Builder: Join Constructions
Location: Gerroa, NSW
System: Integrated Heating System
Capacity: 40kW
Project brief/scope:
CWL Group provided an alternative solution to a conventional heating system for an energy-conscious client with site-specific governing factors such as:
A cost-effective, efficient integrated hydronic heating system was designed and installed by CWL Group to overcome various site limitations using European high-efficiency air to water or air source heat pumps, installed in a cascade configuration producing 40kW heating capacity. With the original proposal of using LPG for the heating system, Join Constructions contacted CWL Group to provide an alternative, more energy-efficient approach, resulting in a future proof solution. The air source heat pumps are installed within a subterranean plant room with virtually invisible air registers to commensurate the architectural design of the home. Remote accessible monitoring, diagnosis and operating parameter control of the heat pumps ensures more cost-effective preventive maintenance and ongoing service of the system.
Over ten years on, and the homeowner is enjoying a comfortable and efficient heating system with year-round pool and spa heating, coupled with the benefits of a recently installed solar PV system further lowering operational costs. Read more, featured here in The Local Project.
